Description (shape, decor) | Book directly sold by the author Denise Bloch :
'My name is Denise Bloch. I am a graphic designer graduated from the Art School University of Stuttgart (Germany). I have lived 20 years in Germany and stay now in Nancy, my origin town, and birthplace of the Nancy School Art style.
I have tried to create a graphical pictures book from Gallé's master-pieces. I point on glasses, ceramics, marquetries or roughs details, in a manner and size they have never been treated. Lyrics and citations picked out his writings and out poems of his friends Baudelaire, Victor Hugo, Théophile Gauthier... are in harmony with each work's topic. I present together the true natural plants or flowers with a short botanical description.
I show more than hundred glasses, ceramics, marquetries or roughs, all manufactured before the year 1904.
I have worked with the Nancy's School Art Museum (Musée de l'École de Nancy, with the Meisenthal's Museum of glass and crystal (Musée du verre et du cristal de Meisenthal), with the friends of the St Clement's ceramicfactory (Les Amis des Faïenceries de St Clément-Lunéville) and François Le Tacon, one of the best Gallé-expert in the world. He has written the preface of my book. Valérie Thomas, preserver of the Nancy's School Art Museum, has written the preamble.'
